1. DFM- Design for manufacturability
We listen to customer and work out Design For Manufacture. Our engineer analyze parts' layout in the mold and work out the parting line. They design the injection type and gate location, the slider nose and drive, the lifter head and seat, inserts, ejector pin size and layout, cavity/core and slider waterway of cooling system, location/front size and length of cavity number. Also, they analyze draft angle and make sure it meets the requirements of texture, uniformity of parts' thickness to propose plastic decrease to prevent shrinkage. They suggest product change for those undercut after molding and check the thickness of fillet in case of too thick. They lay down brand and model criteria for standard components, such as water injection well choke, model, locating plunger ring dimension, travel switch, counter model etc.
MMT has over molding processes where one thermoplastic material is molded over another material to form one part. Our over molding capabilities typically involve soft thermoplastic materials such as urethanes and thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) being over molded onto hard plastic such as ABS or PC etc.
3. Insert Molding:
Insert molding is a process that starts with placing metal, ceramic, or plastic parts into the plastic injection mold. After those parts have been properly placed, the mold is filled with molten plastic in the regular injection molding process. Once the plastic has cooled, the inserted parts are now firmly bound to, and integrated into, the plastic parts. There are many options for inserts that can be placed into the mold like threaded bushings, wires, batteries, and warning labels etc.
4. Family Molding:
Family molding produces a set of parts similar in size that are molded at the same time, in the same quantities, from the same material and color. It can product plastics injection parts in sets at the same time.
5. 2K molding:
2k molding is perfect if you want to combine plastics with two different colors into one mold. Two cavities are made in one mold. When the raw material of one color hardens in one cavity, then the mold will turn for the other color raw material molding.
5. Insert Molding vsOver molding
On the surface, these two techniques look very similar. Insert molding generally takes a small part and encapsulates it within the plastic resin, like embedding a threaded bushing. Over Molding, on the other hand, is the process of plastic injection molding a layer of plastic over the top of another, different material, piece of plastic. An example of this is the housing for a portable drill. The main body of the housing is the first run (substrate) of injection molding, then the softer grips and handles are over molded onto the main body.
6. Mold flow Analysis
The engineer analyze parts' filling time and pressure. It will help them find out the air trapping and the intersection of raw material flow. They also analyze parts' pressure maintaining condition and deformation.
7. What material to be used to make the Mold?
The typical steel types are P20/718/718H, S136/S136H, NAK80, 838H,H13and we also can use special steel according to your requirement.
8. Mold Durability
Molds may begin to wear over time and repeated cycles. There are many factors that can increase the life of your injection mold, such as the steel type and pressure and temperature during injection. Our professional team can give suggestion for steel type according to the injection cyclingtimes and control appropriate injection specification.
